Govt focusing on promoting modern education at AJK universities: President AJK

Azad Kashmir President Sardar Masood Khan says government is focusing on promoting research, innovation and modern education at AJK universities to compete with national and regional universities.

AJK President said this while chairing the 11th Senate meeting of University of Poonch, Rawalakot held at Jammu and Kashmir House on Thursday.

Stressing on the need to build centers of academic excellence, Sardar Masood Khan stressed to focus on developing an environment of research and innovation at AJK universities.

He said the universities must acknowledge the need in creating a close liaison with the industry to ensure appropriate placement of our graduates.

The death toll from a powerful earthquake and tsunami in Indonesia leapt to 832 Sunday, as stunned people on the stricken island of Sulawesi struggled to find food and water and looting spread.
