PPP celebrates 51st Foundation Day
Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) is all set to celebrate 51st Foundation Day today (Friday) with vigour and commitment to the ideology for which the leadership and workers sacrificed their lives.

The main function of the 51st Foundation Day of PPP will be held in Sukkur in which delegates from all the provinces, Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan will participate.

A public meeting in connection with the 51st Foundation Day of PPP will be held at Z.A Bhutto Sports Complex Sukkur at 3:00pm. PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and other party leaders will address the gathering.

All arrangements for the public meeting have been finalized. A stage has been set up to accommodate PPP leaders. The venue has been decorated with posters and party flags while thousands of chairs have been placed for the workers.

Strict security arrangements have been made for the public meeting. Heavy contingents of police have been deployed on all roads around Z.A Bhutto Sports Complex for security of PPP leaders and workers.

Death toll in Indonesia quake-tsunami tops 800

The death toll from a powerful earthquake and tsunami in Indonesia leapt to 832 Sunday, as stunned people on the stricken island of Sulawesi struggled to find food and water and looting spread. Sahiwal killings: CM Buzdar rejects opposition’s demand to form judicial commission

Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar on Thursday rejected the opposition's demand to form a judicial commission over the tragic Sahiwal extrajudicial killings. Speaking to the press after a one-on-one meeting with Prime Minister Imran Khan, the Punjab chief minister said that there is no immediate need for a judicial commission over the incident – a demand recently put forwarded by Punjab Opposition leader Hamza Shehbaz. "The probe is going with full transparency. We will see if there are issues in future. We have already taken action against five personnel," he said. The chief minister said that disciplinary action is being taken against two suspended officials. "Action is being taken against every person responsible for the incident. I will take a briefing on the issue in two-day time," he said. The chief minister announced to give a sum of Rs20 million to the family of the deceased.
