Jansher urges young players to focus on fitness

Former world squash champion Jansher Khan advised all young players to focus on their fitness to win international events.

The squash legend said lack of fitness was the main reason why Pakistani players could not make the most of the numerous international events at home by winning titles.

“Our players are skillful and there is a need to work on their fitness,” said Jansher.

“I have been witnessing Pakistani players don’t have the stamina and speed, essential for winning mega international events,” he said.

Jansher said more work should be put in players’ coaching and a higher number of qualified coaches should be involved in the game to groom players.

“If our players want to be champions, they have to focus on their fitness.

They have to give their full time to game,” he said.

Jansher said it was commendable for Pakistan to host several international events this year.

He said that current prime minister of the country, Imran Khan who himself has been a sportsman and the armed forces will keep on playing their respective roles for the betterment and excellence of squash.

He also hailed the special role played by Chief of Air Staff Mujahid Anwar Khan for his support in the restoration and revival of international squash by holding mega international tournaments of squash in Pakistan.

PM Khan had ended tolerance for corruption: Fawad Chudry

Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry on Sunday asserted that all state institutions stand by Prime Minister Imran Khan and are working together to lead the country toward development. While talking to journalists, Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry said that before Khan came to power, every politician thought that “corruption was their right”. Czech Republic footballer Josef Sural killed in auto crash in Turkey

Czech Republic international Josef Sural was killed and six other Alanyaspor players were injured Monday when their van crashed on the way home from a Turkish league soccer match. The 28-year-old Sural died in the hospital during emergency surgery, The six other players were reported to be in stable condition. Cavusoglu said Sural and his six teammates hired a private luxury van to return from a game at Kayserispor in central Turkey.
