Polling for PB-26 (Quetta-III) by-elections underway

Polling for the by-election for Balochistan Assembly constituency PB-26 Quetta-III, is underway today.

The polling started at 8am and will continue till 5pm without any break.

There are 57,675 registered voters in the constituency who will exercise their right of vote today.

The seat fell vacant after the Hazara Democratic Party (HDP) candidate Ahmed Ali Kohzad, who had won general elections on July 25, was disqualified by Election Commission of Pakistan for being an Afghan national.

According to an election commission spokesperson, 49 polling stations have been set up, of which 28 are for men, 19 for women and two are for both.

All polling stations have been declared ‘sensitive’.

Strict security measures will be in place during the by-poll.

At least 1,443 police officials along with FC personnel will be deployed to maintain peace during the by-poll.

PM Khan had ended tolerance for corruption: Fawad Chudry

Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry on Sunday asserted that all state institutions stand by Prime Minister Imran Khan and are working together to lead the country toward development. While talking to journalists, Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry said that before Khan came to power, every politician thought that “corruption was their right”. Czech Republic footballer Josef Sural killed in auto crash in Turkey

Czech Republic international Josef Sural was killed and six other Alanyaspor players were injured Monday when their van crashed on the way home from a Turkish league soccer match. The 28-year-old Sural died in the hospital during emergency surgery, The six other players were reported to be in stable condition. Cavusoglu said Sural and his six teammates hired a private luxury van to return from a game at Kayserispor in central Turkey. The crash occurred near the entrance to the town of Alanya, on Turkey’s Mediterranean coast. Cavusoglu said the driver of the van was being questioned by police. “Our pain is huge,” Cavusoglu said.
